Social media activity to power your car
What fuel you use for your car?
Answer to this question would be petrol or diesel or LPG or CNG or may be electric charging. All of us are aware with the situation of exhausting energy sources. Petrol, diesel, LPG are under that category only. Due to heavy consumption both of them have led to the finishing edge, that’s why everywhere in the world research for good, economic, eco-friendly alternative is being done. CNG is one of the good alternative but with the increase in population pressure on rise in energy sources are going higher everyday. Even when we have invented electrically charged sedan to avoid this crisis. The scenarion is not very bad but not that good also. There is a demand for more alternatives for our future genre. Demand is one of the factor for inventions. In this high-tech, socially intact via networking sites era we have found out a way to cross this barrier of energy crisis and give a world a new, eco-friendly substitute of the conventional fuels. Sooner or later the day will arrive when you don’t have to worry about petrol or diesel price hike because in future you will be to run your four-wheeler with social fuel that is your tweets and likes on the social networking site.
Yes, this is going to be the most unusual and amazing news around the world. A group of high school students from Kansas City have successfully have given life to this unique and innovative idea. They have worked, experimented and redesigned an old 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia sedan for this purpose. They have succeeded in the plan and are able to power the sedan’s battery via social media likes and tweets which will act a fuel for the automobile. An engineering firm, Minddrive along with the teenagers team have designed a device which will keep an eye on your social account activity to generate fuel for the car.
The more active the user will be on the sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram the more rapidly will he/she will be able to earn fuel for the sedan. Alike now if the project is able to target more number of tweets, likes and shares on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, the more charged the battery will remain and it will be able to cover more distance which gets routed through a server. In case if the project gets no tweets, no shares or no likes then the device attached with the electric motor cuts power to the electric engine and will halt the car. Each Facebook like is worth 1 watt, Each Twitter follow is worth 5 watts and Each petition signature to support Minddrive is worth 10 watts. The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia sedan can drive about 30 miles on single charge and has a top speed of 45 mph.
Linda Buchner, the president of Minddrive finds the idea to power a cruise through social fuel is actually accurate and perfect for the socially active youth. The team has planned a social tour. 20 students will participate in the tour and there are various stops made at technology centers, college campuses and at environmental projects like a wind farm. The Social Fuel Tour will make stoppages in cities such as Springfield, IL, Indianapolis, IN, Akron, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA, to their capital Washington Dcwhich has started on May 31. The goal of this Social Fuel Tour is to increase awareness about Minddrive, which runs experiential education program that help any struggling youth to find employment.
Besides this project, the students are also experimenting on designing copies with sustainable wood structures and fiberglass bodies car. These sedans are created to be produced as one car per month and sold to the public. This will create funds which will continuously support Minddrive. However these models will not have any social-media requirement to run them.
Though it’s just a project but this project can turn into final design of any fresh cruise and you’ll be able to drive with your social media activity to run your automobile.
