Tumblr is a micro blogging platform cum social networking site which includes some properties of Twitter and conventional Blog both. Tumblr was developed by 26-year-old named David Karp. It is headquartered in New York City’s Silicon Alley. It offers you write long blogs of infinite length as posts on Tumblr are not length bound. Members of the site can visit ad follow others blogs and can create their own blog too. Till May 2013, Tumblr holds around 108 million blogs by the members. Tumblr also produced revenue by selling themes to users to change the appearance of their blog to attract audience. The company raised funding from Sequoia Capital (among other investors), Krum Capital, Fred Seibert, Spark Capital, Martín Varsavsky,John Borthwick (Betaworks) and Union Square Ventures. Tumblr has received about $125 million of funding from investors till date. The company raised approximately $85 million funding led by Insight Venture Partners in 2011.
